![]() ![]() The Nash can most likely be repaired if it fails. that's the keeper out of the bunch.ĭo I really like the 112? Not that much, but, with the mods, I like it as much as the Steelaire, at 1/3 the price. Bought a second hand Nash 112, put a Telonics Neo speaker and a new reverb pan in it. Nice amp, good build, but didn't really like it $1400.00 worth. In the real solid state amp camp, I bought, and returned a Quilter Steelaire. ![]() So if you don't mind using it until it breaks, then tossing it, you might be happy enough. ![]() These two amps are in the digital world, more than real solid state. It wasn't too bad either, but the deal breaker was the non defeatable noise gate that left a grainy and annoying fade out on held notes. I was using it with an Emmons S-10 Push Pull with an original BL 705. I did't particularly like it, but didn't hate it either. This summer, I went through one of those phases. Every once in a while, I decide that i really need a solid state amp. Since I couldn't invoke FUSE at the time I demoed one, I had to pass. Probably better than half the time, you can fix it yourself.įWIW, I really wanted to like the mustang, but it wasn't to my taste. You might have to get it fixed, might not. Meanwhile, an old Twin will be working ten years from now. They are made for people to buy at Guitar Center and play at home. They made them to sell through the big box MI and online channels, and that was it. They made a run of them for sale through the life of the amp as it was for sale, then that was it. With this particular amp, there's no way to replace the digital board. Perhaps Fender has made their digital amps more robust, perhaps not. I got bit by the failure of the digital board on a Super Champ XD. Live gigs will always be some sort of compromise, so why not just get a reasonably priced amp that does a good job and endures the road? Which raises the question, 'why spend money on a big heavy tube amp if you can't use it?' ![]()
